Overview
Max Safety Training provides the conprehensive SPRAT & IRATA training course at an in-door training center with state of the art facilities.
Below you will find more information relating to the various levels of SPRAT and IRATA courses.
IRATA training is provided with our IRATA certified partner, Orange Access. #5003/OT.

Aims
To train personnel to a rope access level which will maintain and enhance current levels of professionalism, competence and safety existent within the rope access industry. Also to promote rope access as an integral part of the modern multi-disciplined workforce.
Content
Various content with each level such as:
• Current work at height legislation
• Principles and equipment of rope access
• Anchoring systems
• Descend and ascend techniques
• Rope transfers, passing knots, deviation and re-belays
• Simple to advanced rescue techniques
• Evaluation
Who should attend?
Personnel requiring the ability to access difficult and exposed work sites as part of a rope access work team, in order to perform a wide range of standard trade skills in a safe and efficient manner at different levels It should be noted that a certain degree of physical fitness and a head for heights are important.
Structure
The course is highly practical and physical in nature. With the majority of time being spent on rope, preparing for assessment. There is also a theory element, delivering the necessary knowledge of standards and equipment important for general day to day safety.
Pre-Qualification
Level 1 IRATA & SPRAT: 18 years old, medically fit (self-certification acceptable)
Level 2 : Minimum 1 year and 1000(IRATA) 500(SPRAT) logged rope hours as Level 1
Level 3 : Minimum 1 year and 1000(IRATA) 500(SPRAT) logged rope hours as Level 2 and a First Aid Certificate
Direct entry
Within SPRAT it is possible to do a direct entry, we don't offer direct entries for IRATA, contact IRATA for more information.
Course dates and duration
Open courses are run every third week of the month (call to confirm). The course is of a five-day duration, including assessment.
Location
This course is given at the Fergus Fire hall but can also be delivered at the clients premises. Email us for accommodations close-by.
Ways to pay
The course has to be paid up front and two week prior to the start of the course.
Equipment
Use of equipment is included in the price. You can bring your own gear, which we will inspect prior to use. It is also possible to purchase equipment on the premises.
Wear loose fitting cloths appropriate to the activities.
