Petzl EXO / NYFD PSS - bail-out trainingMaximum Arrest Force is an Authorized EXO Dealer and Trainer.
It is Petzl's requirement to have training in place before the EXO can be
used or trained.
We provide training and certification in conjunction with Petzl and members of the FDNY, who were part of the development of this package. The course is intensive and can be considered to be the best of its kind. Email us for more details and registration.
The EXO Users training and certificate is the first step. Anybody using the EXO has to have had this training. As a qualified user, the candidates can purchase, evaluate and use the EXO.
The EXO Trainers training and certificate is the proprt training for those who want or have to teach bail-out at their own fire department using the EXO.
Aims
The aim is to train personnel to a level at which they can maintain and enhance current levels of professionalism, competence and safety existent within the fire service for bailout systems. It is also to provide insight into how this system was built up by the FDNY and why this package is the best for personal escape as a last resort.
Content
There is a variety of content with each training session, such as

• Last resort
• Anchoring methods
• Bail-out and descent techniques
• Evaluation
Who should attend?
Fire fighters who go into any burning building and could get themselves trapped in a situation where self rescue would be required by bailing out a window. It should be noted that a certain degree of physical fitness and a head for heights are important.
Structure
The course is highly practical and physical in nature, with the majority of time being spent on rope. There is also a theory element which delivers the necessary knowledge of standards and equipment important for general day-to-day safety.
Details
The EXO Users course is a one-day course that includes assessment. The EXO Trainers course is a two-day course that includes assessment. These courses can be given at your local fire hall or our own location.
